YN-568EX II is the 2nd generation of the YN-568EX. The difference between these two generations is that the YN-568EX II can be a Master flash, while the YN-568EX can't. In other respects, they are same.

a), Supports High-Speed Sync Flash
With high-speed sync (FP flash), the YN568EX II can synchronize with all shutter speeds, the maximum shutter sync up to 1/8000.

b), Master flash.
This YN-568EX II can be used as a Master flash to trigger YONGNUO flashes YN568EX II, YN568EX, YN565EX, YN500EX, YN560EX, YN510EX, and Canon flashes 600EX-TR, 580EX II, 580EX, 430EX II.

c), Supports for Canon's and Nikon's System 
It can work as a remote slave flash tiggered by Canon 600EX-RT, 580EX II, Nikon SB-910, SB-900, SB-800, SB-700, Canon 5DIII, 7D, 60D, 700D, 650D, 600D, Canon c-commander ST-E2, Nikon SU-800, achieves wireless TTL and manual flashing.
